Like many on the Peninsula, my family is a little jealous of BART, a system we only use once a year to go to Big Game.Â
The jibe here isn't a put down of BART, it's that the most memorable part of Berkeley is the trip to their not-so-fair-city on BART. And that is very, very true for my littlest Lefties who are in awe of a public transportation system that really works.
The cars are mostly filled with Red wearing fans when we get on at Union City or Fremont but then gradually turns Blue as we move North.  Still the mood is jovial until we arrive in Berkeley station and get heckled as "1 percenters" or worse by the street people. (No real hassles in the campus proper this year - even on Frat row.) Their feelings on Berkeley - the city is full of mean people and stay close to dad ..... Campus kind of pretty but still stay close to dad. BUT it has a really cool BART station!
