The worst Stanford team I ever saw was the 1-11 team in Harris' second year, 2006. This was after three years of clearly overmatched Stanford football teams coached by Buddy Teevens. It was the culmination of a five year decline in quality.

Stanford played four ranked teams that year. Eight of Stanford's 11 losses that year were by three or more touchdowns. In the worst game -- Harris's first game against #21 Oregon at Autzen Stadium -- Harris's team gave up 48 points in the 48-10 loss.

On Saturday, Stanford gave up 49 points in a single half.

To me, that is an alarming new low.
