Lizzy (Elizabeth) Houston has been announced as the associate head coach for the lightweight women's rowing team (which has not staffed a head coach position since the near-cancellation of the sport during covid).  The lightweight associate head coach reports to the openweight head coach (Derek Byrnes) as a formality, but in practice it is essentially an independent coaching position.

Houston spent the last two years as an assistant coach for the Boston College women's rowing team.  Prior to that, she was the boys varsity assistant coach for the Boston Latin School in Boston, MA, as well as a coach for Community Rowing in Boston.  She has spent summers coaching the USRowing ODP camp and Craftsbury, as well as rowing with Riverside Boat Club.

She is a 2019 graduate of William Smith college.  She rowed for Vesper Boat Club (Philadelphia) one summer early in her collegiate years with good success, medaling at USRowing club nationals and Canadian Henley.  Prior to William Smith, she rowed for the New York Athletic Club Under-23 team while studying at Manhattan College.
