This year, the trip to Utah and Colorado will probably be the toughest road trip in the conference, and they do not have to reciprocate. Some might think it is an advantage to only play them once, but I'd rather have the chance to even the score with them at Maples if the road trip goes badly.
We get UCLA and USC at home and don't have to travel to SoCal, when that is physically the least demanding trip and a trip to a key recruiting area. And a fan favorite given so many alums live in SoCal.
Not a good schedule draw for us, unless one thinks that Utah, Colorado, UCLA, and USC are our top competitors and we play all of them only once. But somehow it still doesn't sit well with me. Counting on only having to lose to someone once instead of twice is not what we do.
I will be lost next year in the ACC trying to figure out what kind of schedule we should desire. There certainly won't be the same opportunities for fans to travel to away games.
