I think we need to be realistic but not disparaging. This is the last game we play with a realistic chance of winning. That’s not to say  we won’t pull an upset but it will be one big upset. And we have to play three teams that could seriously injure our underage, undersized and under skilled team. That’s realistic.

I am very proud of this bunch and of their coaches for the way they played tonight. They played with heart and with more skill than they really have. To use a cliche, from what I saw,” they left it all out on the field.”

The coaches did a very , very good job of pulling this team together after a crushing loss to USC and an embarrassing loss To Sacramento State.  I’m proud of them, too.

I do t know whether the team will play with heart the rest of the way. That would be truly remarkable. And I won’t fault this coaching staff if they can’t keep them motivated week after week of crushing losses. 

But tonight , the team played like men and made me proud. And the coaches did what they needed to do also. I think they deserve our respect.

The rest of this season is less about rebuilding than surviving . They need support ,   Not analysis.
