The salary is only $225,000 per year, but it's the talent fee and retention bonus that make it expensive. The guaranteed talent fee is $1,575,000. So, that's The last paragraph on page two indicates that he gets a pro-rata portion of a retention bonus. It appears that he gets $1.5 million for paragraph two on section 9, AND a portion of the $1 million in paragraph 3. He receives $250,000 for being the head coach when the new stadium opened (this may have already been paid).

So, that would be $6.9 million for the three remaining years. In addition to that, UCB is on the hook for any assistant coaches under contract. They tend to have one or two year contacts, so while it's not a big consideration, it's still a cost.
