I will offer that a key to NIL at Stanford might be not jumping in without looking for a solution that will be sustainable; ie anticipate that some changes will be mandated in the not-too-distant future. So whatever model we choose, it should have room to maneuver once the NCAA and other legal/legislative entities clamp down on the third-party excesses.
Having said that, the same folks who "played statue" on this whole issue most likely still think that the Olympics are for amateurs.
A tough pill to swallow, because my Stanford education taught me, among other things, that change is often good and should be anticipated.
