Well, that and vast sums of money. Sure, Shaw's set for life. But come on, if you get offered tens of millions to do a job you might just get lucky at ... you're taking it, right?

Shaw's NFL experience is many years in the past. AFAIK he was never an OC (or DC). He was an "assistant coach". His college experience is relevant, but probably not compelling. If he gets an offer from the Raiders, it will be because they "know" him, not because of his credentials in the NFL. I would hope he would have the good sense to recognize the Raider's situation is so bad that he wouldn't take the job. I doubt the Raiders will throw money at him.
