I knew quality had fallen off at SI, but I didn’t know they were running AI-written stories with fake bylines. 

I’m pretty sure I read a couple of stories by “Drew Ortiz”. 

I have nothing inherently against AI as long as its use is disclosed.

All you have to do is read political news coverage to know it isn't about truth as much as getting views or listens.

The fact this happened at SI, knowing who runs it now (Ross Levinsohn), it is not even a tiny bit surprising.
