You bet it was deliberate. It may be that Murakatete thought she could get away with it. She was frustrated, they were losing, and she committed a deliberate act of violence that had nothing at all to do with the game. It was just a "cheap shot". The conference does (from what I have read here) sometimes suspend players. Murakatete is done after this year. She is 23 years old. IMO she should get the Draymond treatment.
