Having been on campus from '83-85, I can agree that the major sports were generally awful, with the exception of baseball. There certainly were some individual talents like Elway, White, Muster, Veris, K Jones and Revelli who made it worthwhile to go to games for this sports nut in the fall and winter. Football was still widely supported, but Maples was empty. Spring was amazing with almost guaranteed championships in tennis and future superstars at Sunken (Bonds, McGwire, the Big Unit, IIRC).
