For what it is worth, here are the average scores by AD:
Geiger 5.4 (min 3, max 11)
Leland 7.6 (min 2, max 11)
Bowlsby 6.8 (min 2, max 10)
Muir 6.6 (min 3, max 10)
By average major sport score, our best AD was.... Ted Leland(?!). However, for every AD, their first few years probably was partly or largely due to what they inherited from their predecessors. If you just look at the average over their last three years:
Geiger 7.7
Leland 6.7
Bowlsby 8
Muir 5.7
It does suggest that Bowlsby and Geiger were our best ADs, which tracks with the fact that both of them (re)built the department over their tenures. The rolling average over Muir's long tenure looks pretty bad, even taking out 2020.
