"A Thousand Clowns" isn't quite as totemic today...after the late 60s and all, but it was a great movie...and play. My favorite line...or one of them..(and I still use it today) when Jason Robards is having lunch with - his agent? - a prospective employer? ...anyway, the restaurant is really dark, with candles on the table. Robards says to the waiter, "I'll have a hamburger and a flashlight."
