Why didn't WE think of this? UCLA has banned the Trojan mascot from stabbing the field / center logo with his sword as part of the pre-game hoopla. Marvelous!! It's so petty it just might work. A weak kick in the balls is better than no kick at all where USC is concerned.

And...we get a TWOFER! The LA Times' Bill Plaschke sorta goes off on Tommy Trojan and field stabbing.  Plaschke's article has quote that is SO revealing and delightful in its innocent self-absorption:
"Beyond this being really kind of childish, the biggest thing that they're missing is that it's not about UCLA or defacing property, it's about us," said Kenny Morris, who was the USC drum major for the 2009 season. "It's about the Trojan family, all of us uniting for one single moment...
Yup. As usual, it's all about them.
