But more relevantly it's absurd to blame Shaw for his injury or insinuate Love was mismanaged. It's football, players get injured sometimes.
Disagree. I thought it was egregiously wrong that Love played against Arizona State after missing the previous week. But there are always different ways of looking at things. Here's an ESPN write-up favorable to Shaw (whereas I remember being pretty critical of the decision to have Love suit up and play after seeing his first half performance):
Quote: Stanford running back Bryce Love returned after missing the Utah game with a left ankle injury. He was not fully healthy against the Sun Devils, but did show bursts of explosiveness before Shaw opted to take him out in the second half.
Love's stats: 21 yards on 11 carries

Anyway, most of us know that Love sustained a severe knee injury on what was close to the last play of Big Game. It is possible that without that injury--the sort of unfortunate thing that is a danger for every running back--he might have been healthy enough for the NFL.
