I've jumped up and down over three Stanford Rose Bowl wins, 
but I've never been as affected emotionally, by any Stanford event,
as I was by seeing Rachel Heck win the key and final match
of this tournament.

You have a good point. When Rachel, so classy and understated, including when acknowledging her opponent, gets to her teammates just off the green, she bounces up and down. It seems involuntary and unconscious. Just pure uncontrollable joy, with no artifice. So happy for her.

Many stories of endurance through misfortune, though admirable, do not have happy endings. But some do. That was special.

What a great person to be associated with our beloved university.
