Actually, that lot is used as overflow parking for baseball and most other sports. It's often pretty full on Saturdays in the spring.
I may have misunderstood the location of lot 2. Gostanford.com was ... not helpful. Apologies if I got it wrong.
the unpaved lot between the football stadium and El Camino and between Galvez and Sam McDonald Road. While the end of the lot toward Sam McDonald Road might see baseball, soccer, rugby, and softball parking my picture is from the other end of Lot 2 which probably only sees parking, other than for football games, for graduation and the occasional Earthquakes game in the stadium. The blocked off area by Gate 10 is also very close to Galvez, the other blocked off area near Gate 12 was closer to Sam McDonald than Galvez.
I ride by Lot 2 on most weekends in the spring and summer and I have never seen cars down by the two areas near Galvez that have the new tree barriers.
