It is being reported that Colorado State, San Diego State, Fresno State and Boise State will be leaving the MWC in 2026 to join OSU and WSU as members of the new Pac-12.  In addition to those four, the Pac-12 will need to add two more schools by 2026 to earn status as an official conference.

Saw that. It's going to be expensive.

What are the next two teams that join the new Pac-8? I think they'll only be able to afford the six additional teams, but who knows?  Boise State (#30) is the top ranked MWC team this year -- UNLV (#61) and San Jose State (#79) are next, followed closely by Fresno State. UNLV and SJSU would make sense. It's a big dropoff to 1-2 Nevada (#98), and then an even bigger dropoff to Airforce, Hawaii and New Mexico...although SDSU and CSU are in that cohort. Those five are currently ranked #112 - #117.
