Well, Motel 6 and 7-11 are still well recognized brands even though the numbers don't make any sense now. I think the lesson is not to keep changing it. 

Of course there being both a Big 10 and Big 12 sort of naturally limits those conferences from making a change, otherwise I bet one of them would have changed like the Pac did, stupidly.
