I think it's a good thing this happened for Stanford athletics.

The ACC is clearly a better conference now. But if the ACC does get busted up in the next year or two, which is very plausible, a reconstituted Pac is probably our best landing spot. If OSU and WSU had been absorbed by the MWC that would have been somewhat worse of an outcome if we eventually had to join.

Agree. Further, I can see scenarios where some kind of "athletic amnesty" has to prevail for all involved. Nobody knows what the future may bring, but it may be that many former PAC-12 schools will "need" to end up in the same geographic conference. They will all have to get along.
