After their team lost the 100th Big Game game (a pretty blah game on an overcast, gray day), the Cal fans tore down the fencing that used to separate the stands from the track. They tried to tear down the goal posts but were ultimately unsuccessful. It was destruction for destruction's sake. It was a low point in the rivalry. The feelings between the 2 fan bases was particularly bitter.
I've seen a few games where Stanford fans stormed the field. But I have never seen them go after the goal posts.
