I always had good coaches.  Two became college basketball coaches.

I had a mix. Our football coach my freshman year, Norm Costa, was excellent. He built a football empire at Palma, just a first-rate man. I think he was Chris Dalman's coach, and Dalman is now the president of Palma. Costa had 253 Career Wins. 16 league titles 6 CCS titles and owned at one time the longest CCS win streak (48 games). He is in the California Coaches Association Hall of Fame, the National High School Hall of Fame and the Salinas Valley Hall of Fame.
