Noticed a Rivals article that Tarean Folston, a 4-Star RB prospect from Fla. attended the Oregon-Stanford game. Folston has played his recruiting cards pretty close to the vest, but for a while in the summer most recruiting websites had him pretty interested in Stanford. Lately, they have downgraded the Stanford interest.Â
So, here's the rumor mongering: is it possible that Folston chose to attend the Stanford-Oregon game in order to see two programs that he still has interest in? Is this similar to a Kalambayi situation, where he gets a chance to see Stanford on another program's dime? We have no RBs in this year's class so far (though after watching his highlight tape, it honestly wouldn't surprise me to see Sean Barton make the Gerhardt switch from LB to big, bruising RB, if that's what the coaches want), and only one RB last year (though admittedly a potentially great one in BSJ). Folston would be a great pickup, if in fact he still has interest and is just waiting to see how the application turns out.
I also think we have an excellent shot at Jordan Cunningham, the 4-star Fla. Wide Receiver prospect. Checking out a couple of Univ. of Miami chat boards, their fans seem resigned to the fact that he will end up here, after earlier thinking he was a UM lock. Not sure if there is a Cunningham/Folston connection, but hell, I'm starting a rumor, so why not hint at it.
