From the following:

Ryan Burns: "I've always loved Stanford, it was a dream school of mine," he said. "It's a great campus and the people out there are really amazing."
I don't think we need to worry about his commitment.
Another quote has me more worried:
"I'm not actively recruiting guys to Stanford, but I do talk to (U.S. Army All-American linebacker) Peter Kalambayi"Â
QB is a leadership position, and recruiting is the highest priority for any human endeavor that involves more than 1 person. I love how Aziz Shittu and Noor Davis were so active in recruiting others to that monster class. Anyhow, we don't know the context of the quote, and it is a small class with limited numbers of spots. Maybe the coaches said to leave the recruiting to them. At the least I hope he is talking to the 2014 guys.
I don't think we have to worry about Burns, but socalstanfan1 raises a good point about Keller Chryst and have wondered the same thing. Wasn't worried before because Burns seemed to be the lower rated gem in the rough, but his profile and ratings have been rising.Â
This is who we are competing with for Chryst's services: UNC, Pitt, Purdue, $C, and Wisconsin. His uncle is the Pitt coach, but it's not a marquee program. Chryst used to live in NC, but there's a cloud hanging over UNC. Purdue is the other QB U, but not relevant program. They just fired their coach and trying to get Butch Jones of Cincy. $C has a major cloud hanging over them now and the undevelopment of the Barkster looks bad. Chryst's uncle used to be an OC at Wisconsin so that's where the relationship may come from. Yet another reason to beat the crap out of Wisconsin. Anyhow, I'm more worried about other programs getting in the mix.
Speculation on my part, but until he changes that picture on his twitter page, I think Chryst ends up on the Farm. Wouldn't you stay local if your dad was a coach at the local NFL franchise? And his boss has ties/relationships with the local university that offers the best education in the world? If you have lived in other parts of the country and are now living in Palo Alto, would you really want to be anywhere else?
