This does not sound like our recruiting staff:

4-star CB Johnny Johnson hasn't heard from Stanford in month. "I guess they didn’t want me as much... so that’s fine, I’m moving on."

Makes me wonder if the coaches heard something from admissions.  I would guess that, even if they did, they would not be allowed to say anything to the recruit themselves.  It's one thing to break good news, but I would think some official notification from admissions might have to break bad news.  Either that, or perhaps with the small size of the class and the sudden relative strength of the D-backfield, the coaches really did decide to use their limited spots on shoring up another position.  Perhaps they also feel confident that they will land some studs in 2014.

Still, a bit surprising to hear this, regarding one of the top CB recruits in the country.
