What if, and I know this is crazy talk, conferences were geographically based with major schools in the Pacific time zone all in the same conference.  You could even put the word “Pacific” in the conference name.

The chance of that happening in today's college $$$ athletics is slim and none, but it is far better than what is happening now and I would be trilled to see it. Plays schedules where 70%-75% of the games are within the conference and the remaining are outside the conference, will only happen if the tv/cable/streaming $$$ dry up like the Western United States during the summer, fall, winter and spring.
