Perhaps. But Andreeson has kind of gone off the reservation at this point, so I'm not sure I'd use him as the modal example of alumni donor thinking. Moreover, the article expressly said thar "Andreeson in his messages did not suggest any action [be] taken against Stanford or MIT."
I guess reasonable minds could disagree about the ends to which a university should cater to its rich alumni. I feel like that's why everyone around here boo hisses on U$C, but to me, Laura Arrillaga was about as U$C as it gets in terms of qualifications for running an academic center.
