Thanks for sharing and I'm glad to see this move from the university and Levin. Adding 2600 beds/dorms will no doubt enable growth of the undergraduate population - which has been discussed more and more. The GUP proved challenging with Simitian making his career on slow walking this process and keeping Stanford in check. It should be helpful to have new players involved on both sides.
Too often I hear from local people (mostly east coast transplants) with no affiliation to the university, that Stanford is not a good steward of green space. I calmly ask them to look at the rolling foothills and ask them what they think those would look like without Stanford's presence? Here's to a successful GUP, even if it's going to take 3 years to get passed.
