Laying emotions aside, there's a lot to be said for being unranked in the preseason, going undefeated against a formidable schedule, and playing for the NC, especially with the limited playmaking ability N.D. had at quarterback.
Sumlin deserves some love too. After failing to meet preseason expectations last year, A&M entered this season an afterthought. They had their coach, and they had their QB, and that was all they needed to get to where they are now.
