It was the bottom of the 6th, and it was even wilder than what you described.
Fullerton pitcher Bobby Mahoney had thrown only about 50 pitches to get through 5 innings with only 2 Stanford baserunners - both on walks. He got an out in the 6th before a single by Charlie Bates. Then he hit Philip Cheong, pinch-hitting for Jimmy Nati. Cheong was the first of several PHs used by David Esquer - not sure why. Maybe shake things up, send the starters a message after a lack of offense, not just today, but all weekend? After a groundout, there were runners at 2nd & 3rd with 2 outs. Rashad Hayes (hitting for Brady Reynolds) also got hit, loading the bases. Mahoney was replaced, and his reliever walked Eric Jeon (PH for Rintaro Sasaki!), making the score 2-1. Cheong scored on a passed ball to tie it up 2-2. Brock Ketelsen (PH for Tatum Marsh) walked loading the bases again. A strikeout ended the inning.
Stanford went ahead 3-2 in the 7th when Bates tripled, scoring Teddy Tokheim (who had subbed in earlier for Ethan Hott). Bates promptly was tagged out on a hidden ball trick. Truly a bizarre game.
Stanford held on to win 3-2. Great pitching by Parker Warner, Trevor Moore, & Toran O'Harran. At the end of the game, the only starters still in the line-up were SS Bates, 3B JJ Moran, & catcher Luke Lavin
