I don’t think you have a true S Curve after the Top 16 seeds and geography plays an outsized role here. They likely prioritized UCLA to San Diego as Stanford would fly to either San Diego or College Station regardless. It’s hard to judge how things shook out for the committee outside of the top 16 seeds.
