From the LA Times, this post-game comment by Kiffin seems to reflect his and his team's attitude...

"Even if we had won this game we would still be very disappointed in our season," Kiffin said. "It's well below our standards and we'll evaluate everything."

This sounds like the rationalization of a child who either doesn't want to admit that he did not prepare (for a test) or that he was beaten by a better team (in a sporting event).  "Well, it didn't really matter to us," meaning, well, we didn't really try, which of course covers your own sorry ass performance while cheapening the victory or your opponent.

Of course, Kiffin specializes in childish behavior.
