Well, I have to give calfan some compliments on their, well, let's call it - persistence.
After the game, we went back to our hotel and walked the few blocks to the JW Marriott to see the team's postgame celebration. The JW Marriott lobby was absolutely Stanford Football Central. And tons of Stanford fans in the vicinity downtown. Walking back to our hotel, I was in a crosswalk when a younger woman passed me then shouted, "Go B.ears!" My immediate response was, "Are you kidding me?" She yelled back, "No, I'm not kidding! Go B.ears!"
I've got to say, if I were a fan of a team that is now celebrating its platinum anniversary (75 years!) of a title it wants more than anything else, and my rival is basking in the hours old glow of said title near ground zero, I'd just pass by quietly....
