All credit to Derek Mason, the defense during the Oregon game, and a healthy dose of lowercase luck.  Rewatching the Oregon game two nights ago, I was struck by how many times Stanford came close to losing that game.  Oh my goodness.  Williamson nailing the redemption FG, Wilkes recovering the Hogan fumble, Oregon's OT FG kick boinking off the left upright, the fourth down stop, Carrington chasing down Mariota...the list goes on.

True, but there were points where things could have turned more clearly in our favor as well. (The missed 4th down pass to Hewitt stands out.) No more luck to that game than there is to any other close win.
