Maybe she's just struggling setting the oppo position. Hard to believe that was it last season or two seasons ago when we played Duke we dominated them so thoroughly that I thought we were playing against a high school team. Four sets, and two of the ones we won went beyond 25 points.

While I think the coaching staff have identified things to work from this game, I think we shouldn't attribute the difference in score from 2025 to this year solely on Stanford's performance.
As they say the other side gets a vote, and these aren't your 2025 Blue Devils. Last year, Duke visited Maples in the middle of a 14 game losing streak that lasted till the end of the year. Everyone else was beating Duke like they were high schoolers.
This year, they have a new head coach and an outside hitter transfer from Purdue, and they are getting much better results than last year. They are 5-4 in ACC and 13-6 overall so far, compared to their 2025 record of 2-18 in ACC and 5-26 overall.
So I think it's a combination of Stanford having things to improve on, plus much improved opposition.
