Stanford fans have an almost knee jerk reaction that when a recruit chooses a school over Stanford, it's because of grades. That's not the case, and in this case, it's pretty clear that the Allen wanted something different from what Stanford was offering. Stanford's a great sell, but it's not for everyone. Oregon was preferable to him because it has:
- an outstanding track program
- a sports business major
- relationships with Nike
