I'm all for running back by committee, as long as the difference between committee #1 and committee #2-4 is not that big.

I think this is the key. RBBC is a much better solution to the problem of having too much talent than it is to the problem of having too little talent. For example, the committee approach worked well for recent Oregon teams, the Bush/White USC teams etc. because they had multiple guys who were good enough to be on the field. Not much a committee approach can do if none of your guys are good enough.

I'm optimistic that Stanford has enough RB talent to justify an RBBC approach next season.
