I didn't do Stanford right and I could have gotten a lot more out of it and the classroom experience, but that has little to do with my being loyal to the school. It was very important to me, and I learned a good deal from going there, but much of what I got out of it was outside of a particularly sublime classroom experience.
But I am a bit off the normal track. I really enjoyed the esprit de corps of law school (at a big state school) and that may have been more due to at least a bit more maturity and a lot more focus.
