Isn't autocorrect supposed to eliminate typos?
And "boarder" versus "border" and "remodel" versus "role model" are not typo issues because none of those are misspelled (assuming the first of each pair is what Doug typed in in the first place, that is).
I think the point both Kathy and Yvonne are trying to make is that while u can b undrstd w/o gud spelling, if you want to be taken seriously as a professional, you better have good spelling and grammar skills. If I were to send out an email at work in text-speak or, worse, Twitter-speak, I would get nowhere because the vast majority of my communications are going to either government agencies or employees way above me on the hospital's food chain.
Considering that all but two or three of Doug's tweets were sent in a 30-minute window, it's looking like, despite the good intentions, he may have been drunk tweeting. Or maybe he saw or read something that pushed some buttons. It is the off-season after all so I'm sure he has plenty of time on his hands.
