Don't get me wrong -- I am not talking about winning a title at 50, I am talking about challenging for a league title either regular season or tourney. Wooden had a hard time with Newell's teams but UCLA was still competing every year.  We have been an utter non-factor.Â
As for the fans, I am not blaming the fans who go to games, follow the team, etc. We just don't have a great home court environment any more. Blame is shared to be sure (ticket prices), but there were some games the past few years where a home-court advantage really would have helped. Brevin Knight has talked about that and I agree with him.
