One additional problem with Dawkins being allowed to twist in the wind for another year -- it seems to me, watching the Pac-12, that it's finally starting to pull itself out of the cave it lived in for the past few years. (which really underscores how bad Dawkins has been -- he can't do better than mediocrity in the worst Pac-12 in years.) But that means that coaches like Sean Miller, Tad Boyle, and Dana Altman will be allowed to further establish themselves (and reap the benefits of positive stability), while Stanford either wallows in mediocrity, or goes through a transition period.
