Stanford tennis fans expect a lot more.

In tennis, I got the sense that the college game shifted to where most programs stocked their teams with imported players, starting maybe 15 years ago.  I don't think Stanford followed suit.  Just looking at SC's roster (last year's champs) their top 4 players include 2 guys from Ecuador and a German player.  Georgia is another top program.  Their top-6 include guys from India, Australia, South Africa, Mexico, and one home-schooled player.    Would those players meet our entrance requirements? 

I don't know if our problem is the reputation in junior tennis perhaps as much as our ability or desire to become an international training facility.  I can't say I follow it closely but I would be surprised if our issue was coaching.
