I think it's amusing everyone seems to be resisting the hypothesis that this what he actually thinks will happen in the tournaments.

Weird, I know, but try the theory out. It explains a lot!

Nicely put.  Another theory is that he just copied the ESPN crowd, 3/5 of whom (sadly) said exactly the same thing.
