As a big baseball fan, I hate to admit that Lax and Wopo are weakening baseball out here in the Bay Area. The pads, contact and sticks of Lax appeal to the boys and the games are exciting to watch. I'm a long time little league coach and my youngest is currently playing both sports, but that won't last long (he's 8). In working through Little League with my oldest son, it became increasingly petty and political.  The Board put its head in the sand on a number of issues and the league started losing players and families to lacrosse. MLB, MLBAM and teams like the Yankees (with their ridiculous pricing) have only made the problems worse.  As much as I hate to admit it, I think the entire sport is in decline with the younger generation.  We live 3 miles from campus and didn't make Sunken Diamond for the first time in years....granted, I thought we would be hosting the regionals....Argh!!!
