My story is Stanford sports-related:
My dad and I were watching the 1971 Rose Bowl. The telecast included taped segments where the players introduced themselves with their name, (maybe) hometown and major. There seemed to be an inordinate number of Buckeye players who were PE majors; I didn't notice after all, they were football players but my dad did, although he said nothing until the Stanford Indians were introduced.
"Not a PE major in the bunch," he said.
From that moment, I was hooked.
Thanks, Dad.
