The amount of money thrown at higher education (mostly public but some private) simply cannot continue.  California is bankrupt, and many other states are not far behind.  As a nation we need to look at other models of educating our children -- the big, lavish public education factories are the dinosaurs of our age.

Of all the things state money is spent on, higher education (and education in general) is the easiest to justify and the closest thing to an investment. Note that I\'m not referring to athletics here.

I\'m shocked that anyone on this board would think otherwise.
