Hey, life is risky.
To each his own, but as my father used to say I would rather have my son on the football field after school than I would out riding a motorcycle.
Anyway, I'll make the decisions as to whether I play football or not. Same with members of my family. I don't need the Malcolm Gladwells of this world to make them for me.
I really don't think the kids in Pop Warner football hit hard enough to do that much damage. I don't think I ever saw a concussion (although my son did manage to break his wrist).
I will say this. If my kids had been good enough to play in the NFL (they weren't) I wouldn't have encouraged them to play beyond 2-3 years.
