The Coaches poll is out and it has two interesting differences from the AP poll. Duke is 4 and Stanford is 5. And UConn and Notre Dame are also reversed.Â
I guess the two losses Stanford has vs. the one loss Duke has weighed heavily on the coaches. I think a more important comparison are the 7 top-20 wins Stanford has vs the 1 top-20 win Duke has. I don't think putting Duke above Stanford is very defensible--especially with Stanford's Baylor win and Duke and Stanford's equal Conn losses. After all, we lost to Cal, but we also beat them.
