Another oddity: Curtice coached at four other schools and was reasonably successful at all of them. His non-Stanford career record was 121-84-8.
When you consider the fact that Stanford was the only school in the conference that didn't offer athletic scholarships in those days, Cactus Jack was definitely coaching with one hand tied behind his back.
