When my oldest son turned three, I ordered him a cake with "Happy Birthday Jeffrey" on it, spelled out in block letters on the order form.
When I went to pick up the cake, it said "Happy Birthday, Jeffery." I pointed out the error to the baker, and she looked at the juxtaposed letters for a long time. Finally, she said, "Well, it's normally spelled "E-R-Y." I said, "thanks for that, but since it's too late to change the spelling of his name, could you just redo the spelling of his name on the cake?"
